The protection of human subjects involved in clinical research represents this year's main topic in the annual report from the CCMO.

In this report CCMO explains its view on the role and importance of human subjects involved in medical research. The statutory duties of CCMO are also explained here. In addition, the figures and information on the investigation files that have been reviewed in 2016 by the accredited medical ethics review committees (METC) and the CCMO are presented. Finally, the main national and international developments in the field are discussed.
